Information
Who can apply?A Medical Visa is given to those who are travelling to India for seeking medical treatment in reputed/recognized specialized hospitals/treatment centers in India.
Up to two attendants who are blood relatives are allowed to accompany the applicant under Medical Attendant visas, and the Medical Attendant visa will have the same validity as the Medical visa.
The list of ailments would be neuro-surgery; ophthalmic disorders; heart-related problems; renal disorders; organ transplantation; congenital disorders; gene-therapy; radio-therapy; plastic surgery; joint replacement, etc.
The initial duration of the visa is up to a year or the period of the treatment, whichever is less. The visa will be valid for a maximum of 3 entries during the 1 year.
Required Documents
- Original passport with minimum 6 months validity and two blank pages.
- Visa application form, should be filled out in English at http://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa, printed out and signed twice: under the photo and after the declaration.
- One good quality color photograph 3.5cm x 4.5cm.
- Copies of the relevant pages of the Internal Passport (front page, the page where the address is mentioned, the page about previously issued international passports).
- Copy of the photo page of the International Passport.
- If applicant has second valid international Passport he has to provide copy of all pages of Passport with original Passport.
- Appendix V (has to be filled by Indian Hospital stamp and signature of Doctor).
- Up and dawn tickets (just a reservation).
- A letter of invitation from the concerned Hospital in India with signature and stamp.
- Copy of Analyses with English translation.
- Conclusion from Russian Hospital about examination with English translation.
- Original letter from Russian Hospital in English. The letter must be on the letter head of company with original stamp and signature. Copy of the Certificate of Incorporation or Registration of the company with English translation (not notary)
- If the applicant has two citizenships he should provide copy of second passport.
- The Embassy of India reserves the right to demand any additional documents .
- A copy of migration card, a copy of registration certificate / visa, as well as evidence of their work in the territory of the Russian Federation for more than 2 years. If the applicant in the last two years living in Russian Federation , He/She has provide copies of supporting documents (visa / registration, work permit, residence permit, etc.).
- Additional Form for Foreigners.
The deadline for issuance of visas for foreigners is up to 10 working days (sometimes it takes more days). Application for submission for visa may be by applicant or through accredited travel Agency or by a Notarized Power of Attorney.

Visa Fee (April 01, 2024)As part of further liberalization, simplification and rationalization of visa regime in India to facilitate greater movement & interaction between the people of the two countries, multiple entry, Tourist and Business visa for a period of 5 years can be granted to the Russian nationals.
The new rates for the Visa Service charge, for all types of visa is as follows with effect from April 01st 2024.

Processing Time
TERMS OF REVIEW AND RECEIVING YOUR VISA
Term reviewed Usually, however, this time depends on various factors, such as location, place of issue of your old passport, your current visa status, etc., and may vary from time to time. The time mentioned here does not include shipping time spent at work courier companies. Incomplete applications will result in delays in issuing visas and applicants must comply with any changes in the order that may arise during this time.
We kindly ask you to start preparing for the trip only after receiving the service. BLS / OT / CGI is not responsible for any claims relating to inconveniences or penalties when an applicant is required to make changes to their travel plans due to delays and / or inconvenience because of the refusal of a visa.
Average processing time is 5 business days for all types of visas, including business visas, provided that all documents are in order. However, the issuance of visas for foreign citizens to be more long-term process and takes longer.
